Moodle Development

Let’s have a closer look at the advanced features of Moodle development services that contains a number of cool new additions and enhancements for instructors, admins, and students.

1. Competency Frameworks

Administrators now have the capability to set up competency frameworks, add, modify, revise and save competencies, set up customs and link to particular courses.

Instructors and trainers can evaluate students with competencies and students can access their individual learning plans to track progress and request reviews.

This guarantees precise recording and monitoring of student progress and provides more organized and agreeable way to deal with learning.

2. Gamifications

This particular module contains gamification style that work on experience points that are given to the students. It also facilitates restriction of access to any activity according to a user’s experience level.

It is basic, simple to utilize and more visual. It helps in adding points in real time. For this module to work efficiently, the admin needs to configure the completion criteria for all activities that you need to monitor.

Key features of gamification includes:

  • Earn Reward Points
  • Badges
  • Levels
  • Leaderboards
  • Reward Point Redemption
  • Redemption with QR code

3. Recommendation Engine

System recommends several courses to the students based on their keyword search and current courses. A student cannot check his recommendations but rather can check the current status (pending, completed, accepted, rejected).

An email with a unique link is provided to the students requesting to fill the form online. After the recommendation form is completed, the instructor receives notification and can accept or reject the recommendation.

4. SCORM/AICC Compliant

Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) is a combination of standards and specifications for web-based e-learning. It establishes communications between client side content and a host system called the run-time environment. SCORM used to communicate between the course content and LMS. SCORM also defines how content may be packed into a transferable ZIP file.

AICC promotes communication between the course content and LMS. It uses an HTML form to send information to LMS. MS sends information back to the course as a simple text string.

5. Localization

Multinational organizations require learning content and applications to provide multicultural needs of students spread across the world. These courses can be used by a huge audience without any major changes.

Translation & localization services create e-content as per culture, ethnic background, and region. It includes video, audio, Flash, PDF, PowerPoint presentations, Word, amongst others. Instructor and trainees can switch anytime to any language. It sets the native language as the default language user wise. All email and notifications can be done in user’s local language. Quizzes, forums, polls and feedbacks can be made multilingual. Customizes the default translated text with your own words and sentences.

6. Track Activity & Course Completion

Activity completion enables the instructor to set completion standards in a specific activity’s settings. A check appears against the activity when the student meets this standard. The standard might be observing, receiving a specific score or a student marking it as complete. Whereas, course completion shows if a course has been completed or not. It specifies the progress of a student how he is finishing the course according to specific criteria.
